Black is black - oh baby!

Updated: Nov 18, 2021

In honour of Black Friday (an American shopping phenomenon that has nothing to do with us), we are putting the spotlight on our Activated Charcoal range of Rok Blox.

What is activated charcoal?

Activated charcoal is made from finely ground coconut shells. It is processed at very high temperatures to change its internal structure to reduce the size of its pores and increase its surface area.

What is it good for?

Activated charcoal is good for trapping toxins and chemicals in the digestive tract, and carrying them out of your body. Cool, huh? Activated charcoal is also good for whitening your teeth, and may help promote healthy kidney function and lower cholesterol levels.

What does it taste like?

Activated charcoal has no discernible taste, which is why we team it with other dynamic flavours in our Rok Blox. What it does do is create amazing visual effects, from complete colour change to beautiful, swirls that form magical patterns as we cast each Rok Blox.

Which Rok Blox contain activated charcoal?

Our very first Rok Blox design was Grey Terrazzo - a mix of Earl Grey Tea and activated charcoal creates the backdrop for our blue spirulina and green matcha chips.

Our Chai & Activated Charcoal is another obvious member of the range - but would you believe this entirely black blox is actually made out of white chocolate?

Ruby & Black Sesame also contains activated charcoal, to give it its swirly black patterns.

Caramel & Cardamom contains just enough activated charcoal to create a stunning visual effect throughout the creamy, dense gold chocolate.

Check out our full range of activated charcoal Rok Blox in our Black Friday Sale. These blocks are on sale with a massive 30% from Nov 19 - Nov 26 inclusive!
