We are extremely proud to announce Rok Blox as a supporter of Bayside Women's Shelter. When we established Rok Blox, we did so with a very specific mission in mind - to become a social enterprise that empowers women's with the skills and capabilities to support themselves and their children.
We have not discussed this until now because we have a very long way to go before we can really activate this phase of our mission. But this week we decided we could still do something. We could still begin something that would help move us towards our ultimate goal - a business that offers traineeships for women who have been chronically unemployed, edged out of the workforce due to ageism, and women who are living in shelters to escape domestic violence. This is a big mission, and we did not want to promise something we weren't sure we could deliver.
But every big idea has to start somewhere. So we are starting by declaring ourselves as active supporters of Bayside Women's Shelter. How we will initially do this is by donating $1 for every new Member who signs up to Rok Blok to Bayside Women's Shelter. If you are on our mailing list, we invite you to click on the person icon next to our shopping cart and follow the steps to sign-in and become a Rok Blox Member. The Member's area is separate from the rest of the site and has some cool features which we'll start using in the coming months to create a fun, activity community.
